More socks
I couldn't finish a pair of socks without casting on another. I'm using Lorna's Laces again, but this time I'm knitting with US2's. *So* much better that the US 1's. I am still getting the swirl pattern with this yarn despite the change in needle size and the change in pattern (60 instead of 72 stitches). Time will tell what sock #2 will look like.
One nice thing about making so many socks is that I have pieced together my favorite parts from different sources and I now have my own personal sock pattern. I still like to switch things up though. The latest addition to my pattern is the eye of partridge heel. I've used it a couple times now and I think it's my favorite, mostly because of the decorative aspect. Doesn't it look pretty?
I would love to hear your favorite sock tip or technique!
I love the color of your new socks Julie! I too love the EOP heel flap but my little secret is I carry it dowm as I turn the heel so I get a nice cushy, decrative flap under my heel....looks cute and provides extra cushion and less wear!

Love that color blend, Julie. I'm working on a sock using Lorna's Laces right now, and I got some pooling right after I finished the gusset. Just a small spot, but it is a bit odd. I have no great tips...I'm still learning from everyone else.

The heel looks gorgeous. My eye went to it directly and said to my brain--I must learn that stitch! I love the colors of the new sock.

Love the color and that heel adds just enough oomph to make the sock extra special. I will have to try it on my next sock!

I learned to knit in 1999, and have never knit a sock yet. I've been told that it's addicting though, and I do own a ball of sock yarn in my stash...and I have dpn's, so it's only a matter of time.
I do like your heel pattern though, it's decorative as you said, and I love the colors in the yarn you're using.

The heel is wonderful - can you share your source for the heel instructions? So far the only good heel instructions I've been able to use are for the slip-stitch heel, which gets a little boring after a few repeats. :D

What a cute colorway! Who ever said knitting socks was boring, I sure think that such cute socks can never be boring! ;)

Do you have a good source (online or book) for EOP directions?
