Broadripples

Here is my current SIP (Sock in Progress). I'm using Rob's Broadripple pattern, but I'm using the one written for Lorna's Laces that has you cast on 64 stitches. It really works well with the Bearfoot that I am using. Theresa got me this yarn for my birthday. I had been admiring some that she was using over the winter to make some socks and I really wanted to try it out too. After working with it for about a week now, I have to say that I *love* it! There will be more Bearfoot in my future!

I also want to say something about the Broadripple pattern. I'm a simple sock girl -- stockinette sitich in the round or K2P2 ribbing if I feel like working a bit harder -- so I shied away from this pattern for quite a while even though I liked the look of it. For me, socks are "mindless" projects and these did not look mindless. Having said that, I really wanted to do something special with this beautiful yarn. I was reluctant, but I have to say that this is a *wonderful* pattern! Great job Rob! After only a couple repeats, I had this pattern memorized. So, I get the "mindless" factor while getting the beautiful results. And I have to say that this pattern and the Bearfoot work really well together. The picture I took just doesn't do the colors justice.

Enough gushing about my love for my current project. I leave you with a picture of my new haircut. It is *way* shorter than I have ever had my hair cut, and I think I'll be growing it out a few inches, but it isn't too bad. And my hair drying time has been cut by about 75%!

I love the haircut! You look great. Your broadripple's wonderful too. I made a pair out of Fixation - actually they were my first ever pair of socks. I LOVE THEM though I'd not recommend anyone else do a first sock with Fixation. The grafting was a trip. Hope things are going great with that awesome new house.

Wow, you really went for it. I'm impressed! The last time I had my hair cut short (a Princess Di sympathy cut), my oldest one (4 at the time) took one look and said "You look nasty!" What can I say. No Princess Di am I. YOU, however, look smashing! What a great way to start the warm weather season.

Hi there,
I too made the broadripple pattern in the bearfoot yarn. They came out beautifully but I must say that the bearfoot yarn no longer has any resemblence to the color that I knitted with, they bled out a LOT! Fixation is a super yarn for the broadripple pattern, but I walked through their heels in about a week :( No color problem with those LOL...
Haircut looks great, that's going to be nice for warmer summer weather.

Love the haircut, and the socks ...so I kept reading and clicking on pictures and O.M.G. We have the same staircase. With almost the identical stair runner. I have no idea why I find that amazing, but I do.

You look great, girl. And I concur on the Broadripple pattern. At first I thought I'd never manage to stay in pattern. But after the first inch, it was easy, and the results are great. I'm glad to hear it went well in Bearfoot.
