Thankful

I'll tell you one thing that I'm thankful for -- that I wasn't standing in my backyard Wednesday evening! One of our big old maple trees lost. . . what shall I call it? It's certainly more than a branch. This first picture is taken from my office window. Here's another look:

That purple & yellow thing that is being crushed is Maddie's sandbox.

Poor tree. (These last two photos, which are much better than any that I could have taken, were shot by Pete.
I knit a scarf for my mom this past week, but I forgot to take a picture before giving it to her -- doh! And I've been knitting a scarf in charcoal grey Cascade for Pete all week. Basic seed stitch. Pics when it's finished.
Oh, my! I'm so glad no one was hurt! That certainly was a beautiful tree

I couldn't believe some of the tree damage I saw around my neighborhood also. I'm echoing PJ's sentiments that it's a good thing that no one was hurt!

The same thing happened to one of our big oak trees in June...only our new (to us) minivan was parked beneath it. Major bummer. Took out the roof and the windshield. But thank goodness it was the car and not my kids! And thank goodness no one was hurt at your house.

We lost our cherry tree while we were away for Thanksgiving. So sad. Though we are thankful that no one was hurt.
