Well, I opened up the Knitting Blogs Web Ring for new members again. And I'm about to close it. It drives me crazy when I spend 2 hours on the ring and add only 5 sites. Why two hours today? Because no one reads the rules, or they do and join even though they don't meet my requirements. And this two hours doesn't even count all of the emails that I answer throughout the day. sigh.
Spending all of this extra time on the ring is also cutting into my knitting time. I've been very busy with my rubber stamp store -- Stamping Online -- which is leaving me with little free time as it is. So, Clapotis only increased by a few rows in the last week. Maybe she will get some attention tonight at the Joliet Knitting MeetUp. I am the group's organizer and this is our first meeting. If you are in the Joliet area, please stop by the cafe at the Barnes & Noble out by the mall!

Sorry some people don't read the rules - that stinks...I remember waiting until my blog hit the one month mark. Well anyway, I think your blog rings is probably the most populated knitter blog ring out there, and I think it's fantastic, if that makes you feel any better! Thanks for being the host. :)

Julie - I often wonder how you do it. I run the Knitter's Review member webring, and people there don't read the rules, either, and I don't have very many (rules or members). I think it's great that you can manage a ring so large, but I completely understand the frustration that comes along with it.
Have fun working on your Clapotis in that pretty colorway tonight! Happy knitting!

I'm sorry. I think I am one of those people. :-( I thought I was within the rules, until I went back and looked at my posting habits. :-( Sorry to make your life difficult. I love the ring and spend a bunch of time each day looking at it.

I have little to no patience for people who get themselves in over their heads because they cannot read several very simple sentences about their own damn blog.
hehe. That said, I realized I slipped up in applying and went for 8 days without posting over Christmas break. That was a nice kick.

Julie - just want to let you know how much I appreciate you running the ring. I am honored to have gotten accepted the other day! I'd be happy to lend a hand if it would help! Jackie

I've been known to waste away hours of time jumping around the knitting bloggers ring and just wanted to thank you for all of the time you put into it! (and thank you for the booga bag pattern - I have the yarn for it and am looking forward to finishing up my other started projects so I can cast on for one!)

I think everyone who's part of the ring appreciates what you do to run it. I know that when I reached the (reasonable and understandable) eligibility requirements, I was disappointed to find out that the ring was closed.
May I make a suggestion: anyone who applies for membership and doesn't meet the requirments could be permanently banned from joining. It's probably even more work to keep track of that, but it might make a few bloggers read the rules more closely.
Just found a great site through the ring, thanks!

Colleen --
Here's my husband's suggestion -- if someone joins the ring and doesn't meet the requirements, make them pay (yep, cold, hard ca$h) to get in when they re-apply. Lol!

Hey Julie, thanks for running the ring--it's what got me into blogging in the first place.
Glad to hear business is good--even though it's cutting into your knitting time.

I would like to join but am waiting until I meet the requirements (just started blogging). Will you post when you will open it up again? Hopefully then I will qualify. thanks- I love reading all the blogs which is what has motivated me to try my own!

I just need to ask if you know what the dye lot is for the Noro yarn shown on boogaj? I would love to make a poncho with it, just need to know the color. Thank you!

I guess I'm not meant to be part of your ring - this is the second time the rings been closed before I got a chance to apply!
