Give a Little!
Isn't Margene wonderful to set all of this up? There is even a Give a Little Blog! I've donated to the Red Cross and I'm going to donate some patterns for the drawing too. I mean, I have a house and food and so much more. These poor people have nothing. Hard to even comprehend.
And don't forget the animals! The Humane Society Disaster Relief Fund is working to save pets and to help their owners too!
The Humane Society of the United States (or some of its affiliates) is actually working to ban ownership of all companion animals. If this is not something you agree with, you may wish to give to the AKC relief fund or your favorite breed rescue organization.

I have never heard anything about HSUS trying to ban ownership of animals. I think they are a great organization and still recommend donations to them. You can find out all about them and the work they do on their website:

I have been thinking of all the knitters that aren't in Houston (where we have almost 25,000 in the largest shelters alone) - so I'm coordinating Knitting for Katrina! Baby goods are probably the most needed, but anything is welcome - all the details are on my blog. If you can help spread the word, that would be fabulous! :D
I don't have a lot of money to give right now since I just went back to school, but I can knit up a ton of booties from one skein of yarn!
