Study in browns & golds

Coffee_quilt

Block #5 looks a lot like Block #2, so I thought today I would spare you the quilt block photo and instead show you a little something I've been working on.  (All blocks are in my Quilt Block a Day Flickr set.)

I mentioned a while ago that I have EQ5 (Electric Quilt v5) and that's what I used to design the quilt that  I've been working on lately.  The blocks are very simple because it was the first quilt I designed and only the second quilt I have made.  Now I'm starting to think that I need something just slightly more challenging -- so I worked up a new design!

This isn't much more difficult, but there will be some corners that have to meet in a nice lined up way -- so it's a step forward for me.  I'm using more Denyse Schmidt fabric -- but this time I'm pairing it with Espresso Kona Cotton (vs. white -- well, "Snow" is the exact color if I remember correctly.)

So hopefully some new blocks soon.  I'm just waiting for the Espresso fabric to go through the wash -- why I didn't wash it the moment it entered the house, I don't know.  Now I have to wait -- maybe this will make me learn my lesson.

This is great! I love the brown quilt blocks. Sounds like a really neat 'puter program.
