Make sure you give Quicksilver about 250 pages before you expect anything... I liked the book, but, man, did it take a while until I got invested.

I read quicksilver the old fashioned way, and the rest of that series too. Something like 3000 pages total. I agree with Theresa, give it a while to get interesting but I think I remember you're a fan of Neal Stephenson so you probably already know that.

Since I like Neal Stephenson, too, I just added Quicksilver to my Kindle reading list. Right now I'm reading The Historian, and am enjoying that, too. Also haven't read a "regular" book since I got mine and there's a whole pile downstairs waiting to be read. Another thing that I love about it is that I can adjust the font so that I can read in bed without my reading glasses! Hmmm... now if we all had these, thing of all the trees we'd save!!!

Don't you miss real books at all? I considered a Kindle (if I ever get my tax money) but I just love the smell of books, turning the pages, the bookmarks....
