A Little Bit of Knit

That's today's 10! Thanks for those who sent me get well wishes!

And just a reminder! It looks like there are *many* blogs in the queue that do not have the code up on their site or do not have the correct code up on their site. Make sure that the new code you received when you signed up *this time* is up on your blog. If it isn't, I can't add you to the ring. You only have 7 days to get this code on your blog, but due to the huge number of applicants it is taking me a long time to check everyone's blogs. So you may still have time to get the code up! I tried to email a bunch of you today through RingSurf, but it's impossible for me to make sure I got everyone without going through and manually checking each blog. Please check your own and fix any errors.

April 19, 2006

I know that many of you are eager to be added to the ring, but please remember that I am one person with a family, two businesses, a homeschooled child and I also try to have a life and some free time.  There are currently 125 sites in the queue and about 150 people have applied in the last 4 1/2 days.  I have to *manually* check each and every site and move it from the queue to the ring if it qualifies.

If you have a question, instead of shooting off an email to me, please use the resources available to you.  I have put a FAQ right here on this site that answers 99% of the questions that are sent to me in emails.  I simply don't have time to answer these questions.

And please don't ask me when you will be added to the ring.  This is also answered in the FAQ and I will reprint the answer here:

When will I be added to the ring?

When I open the ring, usually hundreds of people will apply in the 2-4 weeks that I leave the ring open.  I have to *manually* check every one of these blogs.  Until your blog is checked it will remain in the queue.  Be patient.  It could take a few days or several weeks for your site to be moved to the ring.  If you meet the requirements and you get the code up on your blog, you will be added.  Please do not email me and ask when you will be added.  This takes up time that I could be checking and adding sites to the ring.

To clarify, I check the queue several times a week and add qualified blogs to the ring.  your blog is considered qualified if:
* You have added the knitting blog ring code to your template.
* You blog shows knitting content and consisitent posting.  (Weekly for at least a month.)
* You blog follows the rules which have been established for this ring.  The rules can be found on the Knitting Blogs Homepage.

I'm sure that if you are eager to join the ring, you will also be sensitive to the amount of time and effort that it takes for me to maintain the ring.  Thank you for your patience and consideration.

That's today's sites. Please remember that you only have 7 days to get the ring code on to your site. I have come across quite a few blogs that don't have up their ring code yet!

If you are thinking about applying to the ring, please read the rules first. Thanks!

That's all for today! More than 100 people applied in the last 2 days and more are applying every hour, so it will take me weeks to get everyone processed. I'll keep the ring open for at least a couple more weeks, but I'll probably close it before I leave for MS&W. There are just too many applications and if I leave it open I'll never get the queue processed.

If you want to join, please read the post below first. . .

Please make sure that you review the rules and requirements before joining! And if you have any questions, take a look at the FAQ. Thanks & Happy Spring!

The Ring opens Saturday April, 15th! Tax Day!

Okay everyone! If you have abeen waiting to sign-up, the wait is almost over. Please take a moment to read the requirements:

  • To be a member of this ring:

    1. You must have a knitting blog, where you talk about knitting.

    2. You must post regularly. For our purposes regularly will be at least once a week.

    3. The ring code must be correct and must be visible on the page where your blog is located.

    4. Your blog must be written in english.

    5. You are responsible for making chages to your blog information (new url, new email, new blog name).

  • When joining the ring:

    1. Your blog must be at least a month old.

    2. Your blog must show regular postings (once a week) for the last month.

    3. You have one week from the time you submit your site to get your ring code up and running correctly.

    4. You will receive a message from RingSurf with your Ring Code and Ring ID. Please keep this message for your records!

Please do not sign up until April 15th! You will be deleted from the queue and have to sign up again if you sign up before the 15th.

I will keep the ring open for 3-4 weeks, depending on how many applications I receive. Last time I was swamped and it took me about 6 weeks to process all the applications I received in just a few weeks, so be patient! It will take me a while to get to your application.

I'm off to mentally prepare myself for what's to come. I'm pretty sure that this time the ring will go over 1000! I can hardly believe it! 1000 Knitting Bloggers! Doesn't it just blow your mind?

Happy Knitting & Happy Spring!
