knitting blogs

knitspot is one of my favorites because the blogger is talented to no end, takes beautiful photos, also spins and gardens, and sells her beautiful patterns.

It's probably bad form to suggest my own blog; but, having only 3 readers or so, I doubt anyone else will.

My blog is knittingdodo.wordpress.com. I've had it a few months, and try to post a couple times a week. Having small children, though, can sometimes make that hard, especially since my youngest spends an awful lot of time in the hospital.

I don't have a regular posting schedule like some blogs, but I do try to keep mine more about my knitting and not so much about my life. Unless, of course, in circumstances where my knitting and my life collide. Which seems to happen much more than planned.

I post when I finsh an object, (I knit a lot of socks and mitts, so it happens fairly often) when I have progress on WiPs, and when I get a particularly wonderful yarn that I need to show off. Since I knit daily, there is usually something to write about. I post lots of pictures because that's what I like best in the blogs I read. And, though not entirely for this purpose, I try to knit things with increasing difficulty to keep readers engaged.

This is probably way too long, and I apologize for that; but I am hungry for readers and comments, and you did ask for an explanation. One could argue that this isn't brief, though, couldn't one...

its not a knit blog that has a bunch of pictures of the latest ravelry pattern i've knitted up

it doesn't have pictures of my cat

and i don't bitch about my life on it

it's a blog with interesting quirky crazy modern knitting creations

As someone else said, its probably lame and bad form to put yourself forward, but with an etsy store thats not doing to well, and the only followers I have are my friends, I want my crazy blog to be loved the way I love writing for it!
I hand dye my own wool, I'm also a beginner spinner, I knit like the worlds going to end, and Im yarn addicted basically. I blog every few days, with photos of my work, my new colourways and my progress, so its not a dead ghost blog. Id also promote the ring on my blog to give it some publicity!
thanks love

Will you be compiling a list of all knitting blogs, or something like that? I can't tell by looking around this site.

My blog is about Knitting along and life in between. Would be honored to be on your list. I'm also recommending:

I'm currently knitting a baby poncho called Saige from Berroco and the Fiber Trends Clogs pattern just arrived in the mail ... when I'm done with these two projects I'm back to making knit/felt purses and computer bags for my Etsy store (collecting wool yarn currently).

I'm sure you know of the Yarn harlot already but since I don't see it mentioned as yet let me recommend it to the top of your list. Totally inspiring http://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/

I just came across a great knitters blog called "Yarn Harlot". The gal who writes it has a wonderful sense of humor and writes quite well. She also has a link to an organization that she started called "Knitters Without Borders" (akin to Doctors without Borders) wherein knitters the world over contribute monies to aiding those less fortunate. The amount of money raised thus far is astonishing and quite heart-warming. I think her blog is worthy of praise and recognition; if for nothing else than the good it is doing the world!

Here is the link to her blog: http://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/
