Tomorrow is the last day for the "Sea" theme
Where does the time go? Only one day left to finish up those pincushions and upload them to the Pincushion Challenge Flickr Group.

Only about 2 weeks remain in the Sea Challenge. Don't forget to upload yours to the Pincushion Challenge Flickr Group!

Time for the new Pincushion Challenge theme! The theme for March and April will be "The Sea". I'm really excited about this one because there are so many possibilities. I'm picturing sea creatures, boats, pirate treasure and so much more. I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.
Don't forget to upload your photos to the Pincushion Challenge Flickr Group.
Once again, I'm blown away by the awesome pincushion that you have all made and uploaded to the Pincushion Challenge Flickr Group. I hope you had fun breaking out and trying something different!
A new challenge will be up in the next week!

Finally a new theme! I thought that since it was a new year, it might be nice to stir things up. The Jan/Feb '08 theme is "Try Something New".
So let's say you always make felt pincushions -- try making one out of woven fabric. If you like to knit, try crochet. Maybe you want to try embroidery -- well, a pincushion is the perfect little project for this. So stretch your wings a bit and see what happens. You always amaze me with the pincushions that you come up with and I can't wait to see what you all make this time!
Upload your pincushion photos over at the Pincushion Challenge Flickr Group.
Pretty Little Pincushions is out now and I just received my copy from the publisher. It's so amazing! And it was great fun to see many Pincushion Challenge participants appearing here and there throughout the book. If you like pincushions, you'll love it!
Oh -- and what about the Pincushion Challenge? Well, I always get a little sidetracked in the Fall and that rolls into the holidays. Sorry about the delay! A new theme will go up after the festivities are over. I'm thinking early January.
Until then -- happy holidays!
It's hard to believe, but October is nearly over. It's time to finish up your Autumn themed pincushions and upload them over at Flickr. I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

I wanted to let you all know that Piecework Magazine is having a pincushion contest and the grand prize is $500! It's called the Excellence in Needle Arts Awards—Pincushions and entires are due in by March 1st, 2008. All the details are at their website and the rules and entry form are here (pdf). Interweave tells me that this year there is a new category called the Next Generation Embroiderer which is sponsored by Sublime Stitching. They are trying to get indie crafters involved as well as traditional stitchers, so check it out! Thanks to Jessica for bringing this to my attention and the folks at Interweave for reminding me about it too!

The next theme for the pincushion challenge is Autumn. Lately it seems that that Fall is in the air and people around the blogs are looking forward to cooler weather. Since this is my favorite time of year, I thought it would be a fun theme!
What does autumn mean to you? Back to school? Halloween? Falling Leaves? Football? I can't wait to see what you come up with!
And remember, I now have a Flickr group for the Pincushion Challenge, please upload your photos there.
August was crazy and I never got up a new theme. I'll post the September/October theme on September 1st!
