good for you!
somedays when i'm stuck in a spiral of sad negativity in my brain my hubby and i lay in bed and speak out a list of happy things. at first it feels ridiculous and futile UNTIL he makes me laugh. then i can start to climb out of my dark place.


I am very impressed with the way you deal with your depression and look it in the eye, so to speak.Glad you're feeling better!


Good for you for knowing what works for you and for sticking to your beliefs about the medication thing. I think that medication can be very good for some people and even necessary for some, but certainly not for all. Keep on fighting!

Julie, I just started reading your blog, but wanted to say thank you for sharing what you have about your struggle with depression. I have struggled on and off my whole life, however continuously for the last 5 years. I had a few really great days this week, but can feel it creeping back. Reading your ways of coping is helpful and gives me some tools for my own bag of tricks to keep things heading in the right direction. I'm resistent to medication as well. Anyway, probably too much information from a stranger, but basically I just wanted to say thank you.
