hmmmm. i don't know for sure that I ever read Little Women. isn't that horrid? anyway. thanks for the post. i may have to take it up and really read it. i have pearl's book, but wasn't aware of her podcast. you're a great reading resource!

I re-read it about 10 years ago - in one of my sociolinguistics classes we had to take a book and analyze the dialects and slang. I chose Little Women because it is one of my favourite books and I was named after Jo! It was much more poignant read as an adult, I have to say.

I can't count how many times I read and reread that book. As a kid, I memorized the first page (I know, what a nerd) and I still know it by heart. I can't wait to rediscover it again through my daughter when she's ready!

It's been a while for me, but I've read it a lot of times over the years. Surprisingly, though, it's not my favorite LMA book. I think "Eight Cousins" wins that--or "Jack and Jill."

Oh, and I did read "March" when it came out and hated it!
